911 Honor Awards

Based on nominations in the 4th quarter of the preceding year, every Spring (date TBD), we host the Annual 911 Honor Awards Reception on Capitol Hill where heroes and leaders in the 911 / NG9-1-1 field are recognized and celebrated.

This NG911 Honor Awards Reception is a widely attended public event hosted by us. Members of Congress, Congressional staff, the general public, public safety professionals, Institute sponsors and their employees, and members of the press are welcome. The event is free. The Institute takes no positions on legislation or regulation. Rather, it's a neutral platform where thought leaders educate, discuss, and debate important public safety and NG911 issues that shape legislative and administration policy in an open forum. In addition to the direct links, below, all of the available NG9-1-1 Institute’s program and event videos are archived on our NG9-1-1 Institute YouTube Channel.

Technology Showcase

The NG9-1-1 Institute’s 911 Annual Technology Showcase provides Members of Congress and their staff valuable insights into the development of important 911 technologies and applications. The Showcase usually occurs in proximity to and in coordination with the NG9-1-1 Institute’s 911 Honor Awards.

Leading tech companies give presentations and demonstrations of consumer and NG911 technologies with an emphasis on how 911 has advanced since the early days of 911, how the 911 system of today works, and a glimpse into the future of 911 as the nation transitions into a fully IP-based Next Generation 911 system.

Lunch & Learn - In-Person & Webinars - PSAP Tours

The Institute’s continuing educational mission takes many forms including mid-day in-person or virtual expert panel discussions we call “Lunch & Learn”. Often hosted in a Congressional building (House or Senate) on Capitol Hill (D.C.), or virtually as a webinar, these events convene subject matter experts from public safety, field practitioners, technology vendors, U.S. Senators, U.S. Representatives, Congressional Staff, and interested members of the public in lively discussions and debates regarding critical public safety topics. NG9-1-1 INSTITUTE SPONSORED EVENTS ARE FREE, WIDELY ATTENDED, AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND PRESS.
