We need your help in identifying the heroes and leaders that should be honored at the next Honor Awards event.

Nomination Deadline: Continuous - Awards Presented at the Next Annual Event

PLEASE READ ALL THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

TO ASSIST YOU WITH THE QUALITY OF YOUR NOMINATION

Early every Spring (traditionally in late February or early March), the NG9-1-1 Institute hosts the Annual 911 Honor Awards Reception in D.C. to honor the heroes, individual leaders, and outstanding groups / organizations of the 911 / public safety / emergency response community from across the United States for their achievements in the prior year. There are six (6) STANDARD award categories; Citizen in Action, Government Leader, Public Safety Professional, Industry Professional, Outstanding Call Center, and NG911 Awareness. There is also an “Other” category for recognizing achievements that don’t neatly fit a standard defined category. In addition, the Institute may recognize an individual with the “Heart of 911 Award” [descriptions below].

The Co-Chairs of the Congressional NextGen 911 Caucus, other Members of Congress, our Sponsors and members, and federal, state, and local government leaders are invited to attend, share in the celebration, and to present these awards.

The nomination window is permanently open 365 days a year. You are encouraged to submit nominations at any time (there is an annual deadline, usually in December, for nominees for the next annual event the next year / Spring - follow us on social media @ng911institute for more information). Recognition would be at the next scheduled 911 Honor Awards Event (Spring of the next year). Any person or group fitting a category description or the “other” cate is eligible to be nominated. Both self and third-party nominations are welcome, and you do not need to be an NG9-1-1 Institute member to nominate, nor does the nominee, to receive an award.

To complete the basic nomination form online requires approximately 10-minutes. However, please be aware that we receive multiple nominations in each category and there is normally only one (1) annual recipient per category.  Thus, the more information you can provide that distinguishes your nominee (ex., descriptions, press articles, other information, etc.) the better for your application.  Many applicants find it helpful to gather such information before beginning the nomination process; narrative, reasoning, and any supporting information.

You are encouraged to pre-write you submission and cut/paste your information into the online form.

It is very important that we have contact information for BOTH the Nominator AND the Nominee(s), including email, whenever possible.

We ask you to describe “why” the award is deserved, and press information or other documentation is encouraged (documents can be attached to your nomination and are encouraged).

You DO NOT need to be a member of the NG9-1-1 Institute to nominate, self-nominate, or to receive an award.

No registration fees / no costs to nominate / no costs to receive an award. Terms and Conditions below.
